Well it’s offical my guild <Bucklers of Swash> is in the process of transferring servers! We’re moving from Mug’thol – PvP to Bleeding Hollow – PvP. I for one am pleased with this change. My old server was a 11:4 horde to alliance ratio. The majority of the alliance side population was in my guild. That being said, we had around +200 level 85’s in the guild with only +100 accounts in guild. The server was made up of people are their alts. The only sad part about the transfer is that my little family on Mug’thol is breaking up.
The way the higher-ups in the guild have decided this transfer go through is:
- Have people roll new characters to familarize themselves with the new server. Survey the population, auction house, etc. Just as a trial to see if it’s something they would like to spend money on.
- Move over Alternate characters for now, just to get the guild set-up. Also move over Guildbank items and gold.
- Two weeks into September is when main characters will be transferred over.
We currently have a temporary guild set up on Bleeding Hollow called <Bucklers>, our real guild, <Bucklers of Swash> will remain on Mug’thol till Guild transfers are implemented. The guild will then be transferred over and everyone will change guild again back into the original.
As of writing this post: Grygor, Maegyn, Gwynvere, Kylinda, and Jarytt have been deleted. Chmelyk has been transferred over along with a bunch of heirlooms. Anslym will be staying behind for a bit long and Trynda will remain on Mug’thol.
On a happier note: Grygor is level 32, Meigyn (name taken D: ) is level 5, Gwynvere is level 5, Aurasyn (Dwarf warlock) is level 7, Kylindah is looking great at level 1 (name also taken D:), and Jarytt is level 8.
Here are some compairson shots:
I prepared for the transfer by obviously stripping my old alts of heirlooms and sending them to Chmelyk. I then proceed to strip them of everything else. I took everything from them and left them standing in thier underwear with the only thing in their backpack was a hearthstone. Yup I even sold thier soulbound bags. I then did the math (this took some time) and sent the exact amount of Gold to Anslym needed to leave them with 0g, 0s, 0c. Once that was done I logged onto my bank character and mailed over all the enchanting mats I had. This ranged from Strange dust to Maelstrom crystals. It was offical. Chmelyk’s bags were full.
I went out and I bought a Vanilla Mastercard. A prepaid credit card because I don’t have one :(. I bought the 25 dollar one and it worked out just fine! I logged into battle net and clicked Chmelyk for a transfer. “Your character has been logged into recently, wait several minutes and try again”. I set my phone to go off in 20 minutes and off I went to watch Grey’s Anatomy. Once the alarm went off. Clicked on Chmelyk and… “You have mail on your character”. So I logged in and it was a letter from Blizzard from my answered ticket from 3 weeks ago and Brew of the month. I delete it and click on the transfer. “Your character has been logged into recently, please wait several minutes and try again”. ARGH!
But in the end I finally got it to go through and I haven’t regretted it since. I’m doing more than just Molten Front dailies and trolls! And even the guild is thriving! There was even talk of us going horde. Which was promptly shot-down. But it does raise the question though….
Would my characters still feel like my characters even if they were horde? Would they look the same? Move the same? Be the same? Well you know other then the whole “I’m Horde now!”.
I may just have to faction change and find out……….
