It’s almost a week since The Shattering ripped apart the face of Azeroth, but it feels like I logged in for the first time after the patch just 5 minutes ago. With every quest I do I’m reminded that everything has changed. Some for the better, and in Blanchy’s case for the worse.
I started out on Anslym (obviously) by running around Stormwind trying to find a place to stand. Not for myself but for my buddy, Stalkuren. You see he had all of his characters stationed at the South Bank in Dalaran. Now with all the portals gone, he had to move elsewhere. I think I found him the prefect place, the little gazebo out behind the Cathedral. He really likes it but he says its a bit far away from the Auction house and Bank so he has taken up residence in the Stormwind inn, just inside the Trade District. He assures me he will be moving out to the gazebo once flying is permitted in Azeroth.
After I pointed out this great spot to him I continued on toward the Stormwind Keep where I found a rather impressive statue of King Varian Wrynn:
I went inside the keep to find a teenage Anduin Wrynn, King Varian, and a King Genn Greymane,
which then reminded me of the Park, or whatever is left of it 😦
I went to Ironforge to check out the Council of Three Hammers: (Muradin didn’t feel like turning for the camera :|)
And I finally went to start my three new characters: Grygor the Druid, Maegyn the Mage, and Gwynvere the Hunter. I won’t post any pictures of them because I already have.
I started Grygor the weekend before The Shattering so I had him around level 4-5ish when I logged on post-destruction. I really enjoyed all the new changes and all the quest upgrades. No more running back and forth to hand the gardener those seeds, and dirt, and other gardening items. The filling of the moonvial quest now spawns <The Kaldorei Shade> and he gives you a background on all the Night Elf lore. I think the greatest change to the game was the one with “The Relics of Awakening” quest. Originally for this quest you would have to kill your way into the barrow den, travel all around it + getting lost quite a few times, just to find 4 items. Now you get a guardian sentinel which helps you kill your way into it, also if you asked here where an item is she casts this mist that leads you straight to the item you selected.
After a few more quests are finished you are asked it fill up the last vial of moonwell water and you get to go see a dryad (daughter of Cenarius), the same dryad who you meet in the starting area. She blesses you with the Power of Elune and you have to go kill the last corrupted branch of Teldrassil, one that Malfurion missed as he cleansed the great tree. It was a fun fight and I enjoyed it very much.
I did the dwarf starting zone on my dwarf mage, big shocker I know. There wasn’t a big boss fight at the end of the zone like the Night elves had but the battle for Ironforge’s Airstrip was plenty of fun. Even if I bugged the general at the end. I quickly travelled down into the mountain and confronted Miora Bitc- Bronzebeard. She denied any claims into the incident (yeah, OK whatever you say) and blamed the Darkiron ambassador, which I arrested and handed over to her. Then I was off to Loch Modan which is where I left off on my mage, I plan to mage it up today though. My hunter on the other hand hasn’t even made it through the Elwynn questline which I also plan to get done today and I report back to you.
My druid on the other had has done the Darkshore questline. Which was EPIC! I really, really, REALLY, liked it. I helped Malfurion combat Queen Azshara back into the depths. I stopped the destruction of Lor’Danel and put a stop to those silly dancing trolls! I helped Grimclaw back to his master, and saved the wildlife from the corrupting influence of the Twilights Hammer. Shortly after that I moved onto Ashenvale Forest to help push the Horde back. It was really fun although everything was kinda spaced out. After that I found “The Bomb” and I pushed my way into stopping the Horde in Stonetalon Mountains. As I was questing I ran into a tiny snag. I found my pathway block by a tiny little inconvience.
Yup thats right, the sky went all red and at first I thought It was the quest I was on but then I heard that Dragon cry and I knew who it was:
But Deathwing better know who’s coming for him, one badass druid who knows how to fight fire with fire:
